Job Description

The Role: You will oversee a portfolio of syndicated loan facility positions overseeing all aspects of closing of primary and secondary loan trades, monitoring and responding to corporate action events, responding to incoming and outgoing KYC requests, and any ad hocqueries that may arise. You will be accountable for ensuring that all settlements/closing, corporate actions, KYC, internal and external queries are undertaken and responded to in a timely and accurate manner. Key Role/Responsibilities & Deliverables Include: The key responsibilities of the role are to undertake the processes associated with both syndicated bank loans and private asset closing support, ensuring timely and accurate settlement. The individual will be responsible for:

  • Liaison with trade counterparties, agent banks, legal counsel, and Trustees where required to ensure smooth settlement
  • Use Clearpar to review /effect trade settlement
  • Ensuring the timely Settlement of all syndicated bank loans and assistance with regards to private asset closing.
  • Review of Credit Documentation in relation to transferability of traded assets
  • Oversight of Loan Debt/Equity Corporate Actions
  • To be proactive and alert in identifying, resolving and escalating problems or delays during trade settlement process
  • To support Fund Managers, Credit Analysts and Traders with any loan related or counterparty queries when required
  • Liaising with internal Compliance, Risk and MLRO to ensure KYC processes are managed effectively
  • Effectively interpret Loan Documentation, correctly implement procedures and ensure relevant clauses are adhered to with a large and varied Loan Portfolio
  • Ensure that sufficient controls and procedures are in place and are regularly updated to keep risk at a minimum
  • Updating procedures where necessary to ensure maximum efficiency and low risk
  • To monitor any additions and amendments to LMA and LSTA documentation and relay to both the LC&D team and Front Office as required.
  • To work with Management and operating teams with regards to scalability and automation.
  • To ensure that all procedures are up to date and assist with ensuring an effective control framework is in place
  • To ensure that all KYC requests from Front Office are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To monitor and ensure that all private corporate actions are responded to within the designated deadlines.
People Responsibilities Include:
  • Subject Matter expert offering guidance and motivation to the team

  • Represent views of the team
  • Working collaboratively within the wider team and peers and to promote team values and behaviours
Desirable knowledge / skills:
  • Good knowledge of Loan market processes such as Par and Distressed Primary/Secondary Loan Debt Closing
  • Understanding and knowledge of LMA/LSTA Terms and Conditions including LMA/LSTA trade documentation
Key Controls Are:
  • RAG/CSSC Risk Control Framework
  • Detailed procedures & checklists implemented and monitored daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly
Key Knowledge and Experience:
  • Good working knowledge of WSO and ClearPar (preferable)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability keep track of workload
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities throughout the day
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
