Job Description

Activate Learning are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring LLDD teacher within Lifeskills at Merrist Wood College. The Lifeskills team works to support learners who face substantial barriers to education, including learners with special educationalneeds. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post holder will teach from PreEntry - Level 1 to full-timegroups via face-to-face teaching delivery, 1:1 intervention, small groups and remote delivery. This post is available on a part time (25 hours per week) basis, maternity cover until July 2022.What do you need to be successful in this roleSuccessful candidateswill have an appropriate professional qualification or experience. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the abilityto inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.Successful candidates will be able to demonstrateresilience and empathy to support students to succeed and encourage them to reach their potential. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitudetowards technology and virtual learning tools.
