Job PurposeMazars FS Consulting is experiencing exciting growth and wehave various opportunities for talented and high performing individuals to bebased in the London office given the opportunities arising from increasingregulatory scrutiny, supervision and demand for external assurance. At present we are seeking to recruit additional talentwithin our already established FS Consulting practice. This role is for a Senior Manager/lawyer with exceptionalattention to detail that is seeking to build a career in professional capacity.The role will sit within the Financial Services Consulting Team. The team areresponsible for the day to day delivery of a Claim Audit Program for a largeBankruptcy Trust, based in the US.Mazars handleboth contentious and non-contentious matters, and provide a range of specialistadvisory services, with particular expertise in litigation and disputeresolution, especially in defending insurance and liability claims.Your Role &Responsibilities- Managing a complex claimprogram in litigation, overseeing the process review of US based lawfirms, and providing expert testimony to a US based product liabilityTrust.- The successful candidatewill be confident litigating matters/providing expert witness toconclusion with minimal supervision.- Supporting a complex,high-value international commercial dispute including with the oversightof the US Department of Justice.- Preparing hearing bundles,opening submissions chronology and cross-examination notes/questions.- Liaising with lawyers on theother side and local counsel.- Facilitating escalation andresolution of issues.- Undertaking legal researchon own initiative and stay abreast of relevant changes to precedent whichmay impact the client.- Working independently fordelivery of conclusions without requiring internal guidance.- Extended and consistentcontact with 100+ law firms to maintain a working knowledge of theirprocesses and controls. Your Skills, Experience andKnowledgeType of Clients: Insurers/Non-insurers, Product Manufacturers.Type of Cases: Personal Injury, Product Liability claims, providingadvice to life and health insurers.Experience: 5+ years of litigation experience in product liability/APH.Essential:·StrongAcademics. ILEX/LPC qualified/US equivalent.- Litigationexperience within Product Liability.- To have hadprevious client contact and attendance in litigation.- Experience ofarbitration/negotiation.- Comfortable in running their ownworkload with minimal supervision;- Ability to cope well with tightdeadlines and under pressure, managing personal performance to meetexpectations.- Strong organisational and timemanagement skills, with the ability to take on significant levels ofresponsibility.- Some experience of supervising juniormembers of staff.- Experience in litigating/litigationsupport in US.Personal Qualifications:· Enthusiastic anddiligent. · Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills with the ability to discuss complex ideas, andpresent in a coherent manner. · Excellent attention todetail, ability to focus on the task at hand and work to deadlines. · Excellent writtenEnglish skills and ability to deliver high quality reports.- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a large teamworking to challenging deadlines. Desirable:·Previous litigation/expert testimony work within APH. ·Familiar with litigation applications including, Concordance, Relativity,Ringtail, Axcelerate, LAW Pre-Discovery outside service and software systemsfor litigation support.
