Job Description

Linux Systems Engineer (RHEL Low Latency) London / WFH to £120kDo you have expertise with Linux You could be joining a hugely profitable Hedge Fund in a senior, hands-on role.As a Linux Systems Engineer you will be an instrumental part of a small, global team responsible for the 24/7 high availability infrastructure. You will be responsible for design, implementation, engineering and administration of a highly reliable infrastructurethat is used for low-latency trading and quantitative research, as well as back and middle office applications. There is a 24x7 mission-critical environment which features virtualisation, containerisation, exchange co-location and enterprise storage.Youll collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps and Software Engineers as well as business stakeholders such as Quant Analysts, Portfolio Managers to evolve the existing infrastructure. There are a range of technical challenges to get stuck into.WFH Policy:Youll join colleagues in prestigious Central London offices (with onsite restaurant, gym etc.) for three days a week with flexibility to work from home the other two days in a hybrid model.Requirements:

  • You have expertise with Linux (RHEL preferred), ideally holding professional Red Hat certifications (e.g. RHCE, RHCA)
  • You have strong experience with performance analysis and Kernel tuning
  • You have strong automation / scripting experience with Python, shell or Ansible
  • Youre able to lead complex engineering projects and have a good understanding od Release and Deployment Management processes, RedHat Satellite preferred
  • Youre familiar with Kubernetes, AWS, EMC SAN/NAS, VMWare virtualisation
  • Youre analytical and enjoy problem solving
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Youre self-organising, able to work autonomously as well as collaborating with the team
