Our Client, a large Research University are hiring a Temporary Library Assistant on a 10 Week ContractBased in London E15Purpose of the RoleThe post holder will work as part of the Universitys East library team, providing first-line and administrative support for excellent customer services and the Library-managed learning spaces and facilities as follows:Main DutiesCustomer Service and EnquiriesRespond to customer enquiries received at the Library help point, via the live chat service, or roving within the space, providing timely and professional support at the point of need.Provide assistance to customers with use of library services including borrowing, membership, and online resources, referring more complex enquiries to the Deputy Librarian.Assist with processes to support the loan service including receipt and return of Click & Collect, Stores and Inter-library loan materials. This involves moving book trolleys and some lifting of heavy items.After training on the most frequently asked questions, provide assistance with basic enquiries about IT and student support services and refer more complex enquiries as appropriate.Assist with marketing and promotion of the librarys resources and services using a variety of channels including social media.Share user feedback and suggestions for improvement with relevant teams and managers to ensure continuous service improvement.Provide orientation tours to new library customers.Technology SupportAssist with the maintenance and trouble-shooting of technology including self-service equipment, multi-functional devices for printing and copying, laptop loans, Wi-Fi and Desktop PCs.Escalate issues which cannot be resolved following documented procedures.Managing the learning environmentHelp to ensure that the library spaces are maintained to a high standard, are clean and that any issues arising are recorded and dealt with efficiently, without undue disturbance caused to customers.Assist with Health and Safety inspections and monitoring.Ensure that the Library Regulations are observed.Experience required
