Job Description

Harris Clapham Sixth Form is looking for an organised and knowledgeable Librarian to join our brand new sixth form.Your opportunityAs Librarian, you will manage the library, reference areas and careers space. In our first year, when we open with Year 12 students only, you will also give some additional administrative support to the Assistant Principal, for example in relation to careers/regulated study support.As part of Harris, you will join a community of staff dedicated to transforming education in London. The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of library systems and, ideally, librarian qualifications
  • Experience of managing a library service, including working with careers materials and references and purchasing fiction and non-fiction texts for a secondary school
  • Ideally, an understanding of reading materials for 16 to 19 year old

Our capacity is 600 students over Year 12 and 13. Our vision of Be the best will apply equally to staff and students. Our building will have excellent facilities, all specifically designed to meet the needs of a sixth form curriculum.Our values focus on Courage, Confidence and Commitment. Construction is well under way and scheduled to finish in the summer of 2021.Sam Hainey is the Executive Principal of the academy, he also oversees Harris Clapham, a separate school for students in Years 7 to 11, a short walk from the Sixth Form academy.
