WHAT YOUWILL DOOver a two-year apprenticeship, you will be learning to become an outstanding teacher, whose main duties will include:Study towards a higher level teaching apprenticeship (L5 Diploma in Education and Training) over a period of 24 months while in postPlan,prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plansDeliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learnersCreate individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/courseand track and monitor progress against theseBe responsible for recording student progress and supporting students to achieve targetsDeliver a minimum of 100 teaching hours over the two-year periodYOUR PROFILE You will hold the relevant highest level vocationalqualification in the subject you wish to teach (at least at Level 3)Hold English, maths and ICT at Level 2 prior to commencing training or prior to completion of the apprenticeshipYou will have relevant up to date subject knowledge in specific subject area(e.g. Hair and Beauty, Sport, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Dance etc.) and up to date knowledge of workplace practiceHave the ability to follow direction and constructive feedback, to help support development as a teaching practitioner, applying theoryto practical application in an education settingHave excellent organisational skills, to ensure deadlines are metHave the ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needYou will promote of a safe environment for children,young people and vulnerable adults to learn inA LITTLE BIT ABOUT LEEDS CITY COLLEGELeeds City College is part of the Luminate Education Group, and is one of the UKs largest FE establishments with around 1,440 employees and over 22,560 students.
