Job Description

Float Legal Secretary, Litigation - An exciting opportunity for an experienced legal secretary to join a London law firm in a floating capacity.They have a busy four-person secretarial team in London and the successful candidate would primarily be supporting our Commercial Litigation fee-earners. You would also be required on occasion to help cover Corporate, Commercial Property and possibly elsewhereacross our fee-earning areas. You will work on a wide range of client-focussed secretarial and administrative tasks, assisting fully with all non-fee-earning work, including monthly billing and file management. Person SpecificationYou will have extensive experience as a litigation-focussed legal secretary in a similar size and type of legal environment:

  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of how the secretarial role contributes to the overall success of the business;
  • Previous experience of legal billing and accounts, of managing a variety of client-focussed accounts activities and a good standard of numeracy;
  • Excellent IT skills, fast, accurate audio/copy typing & sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Good written and spoken English and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and responsible team skills;
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills & knowledge of office procedures/equipment;
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, willingness to develop and to meet changing business needs;
  • Professional demeanour, self-confidence and credibility.
