Job Description

As In-house Legal Counsel, you will be part of the European Legal Team, within WTWs Office of the General Counsel ( OGC"). Your primary role will be to support the legal needs of the various WTW Businesses in Europe, [with a particular emphasis on Benelux and Ireland]. The role is broad in nature, covering a stimulating and varied range of legal issues,contentious and non-contentious matters, and will include working with external Counsel. You would be a lawyer qualified in a European country, with strong academic qualifications and have experience, either in private practice or in-house (or both). Language skills (e.g., French or German) would be essential. A good understanding of European dataprotection law is helpful, but can be developed in the role. The Role:

  • Drafting and negotiating client contracts in relation to the provision of consultancy and broking services (e.g., Engagement Letters, Master Service Agreements, TOBAs etc.).
  • Advising on legal aspects of the provision of consultancy and insurance broking services in Europe.
  • Advising on general legal issues relevant to WTWs Business in Europe.
  • Advising and supporting local Data Protection Officers on local data protection matters.
  • Supporting the other teams with OGC (e.g., Compliance, Risk, Corporate Governance, Privacy etc.) on legal matters relating to the European Business.
  • Advising the Compliance team on regulatory issues connected to WTW European Business.
  • Supporting the Corporate Governance team on company secretarial matters.
  • Supporting the Litigation Team on litigation and related contentious matters.
  • Supporting the Employment Team on HR related matters.
  • Reviewing WTW policy and internal governance documents.
  • Advising on supplier and vendor agreements.
  • Involvement in a wide array of OGC Group wide projects.
