Job Title: Legal CounselLocation: LondonBasic Salary: Up to £70k + PackageWorking Pattern: Currently fully remote. Post Covid plan to do 2-3 days from home flexibly. Douglas Scott are working with a global manufacturing business, on the search for a new Legal Counsel to join their small but growing in-house legal team. Reporting into the Head of Legal, the role will provide the opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to get large scale exposure to an excellent mix of in-house legal matters, with international reach and development opportunities to match.The ideal candidate will be likely be responsible for the following (but not limited to):• Drafting and negotiating and wide array of commercial agreements for various business activities (e.g. Manufacturing, Supply, Distribution, Marketing, Sponsorship, Consultancy agreements etc…) • Providing Corporate support on prospective M&A and JV projects.• Advising on legal risks and liabilities associated with business activities in relation to various areas of compliance, such as Competition Law, ABC, GDPR etc…• Implementation of legal compliance plans and compliance training.• Assisting with a variety of other legal matters such as contentious work, dispute avoidance/resolution.• Advising on wider corporate matters relating to the business legal entities and associated corporate regulatory requirmentsThe ideal candidate will be:• A UK Qualified Solicitor (Realistically 1-3 PQE but this range is intended purely as a guide and candidates with less or more PQE will be considered)• Demonstrable experience working as a Commercial/Corporate solicitor within either an In-house or Private Practice setting. • Comfortable in a small legal team, working closely with a various experience lawyer to provide support and guidance but assured when picking up their own workload and leading on it.
