Aave is looking for a Legal Counsel to join an exciting journey towards decentralized finance (DeFi). The role is to apply legal compliance based on research into Aave’s business operations and establish legal ice-breaking within our financial services industry.You will be working within a global team remotely or from our London office, aiding our product team and working on day-to-day legal operations. As a Legal Counsel at Aave, you will help Aave to legal engineer new financial products.What impact you will make:Legal risk managementLegal researchLegal engineering with our product teamDay-to-day legal advice and guidance in relation to the business model, industry updates or due to changes in the regulationDrafting legal policies (internal and external)Drafting and reviewing commercial and financial agreementsInstructing and working with external counselsBuilding corporate governance cultureReviewing communications and messaging for complianceManaging contracts and their lifecyclesBuilding client relationships, commercial awareness and business strategy together with the management, product team and business developmentParticipating in industry events and lobbyingDrafting legal alerts internallyMessaging views on industry developments in social mediaTo succeed you will need:Qualified solicitorMinimum of +3 PQEPQE ideally with a City law firm or equivalent experience as lawyer obtained in private practice or in-houseHighly interested in finance, FinTech and blockchain technologyExperience in tech lawExperience of dealing with IPExperience with employment incentives schemesAbility to understand payments industry and FinTech in generalStrong organisational and project management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong understanding of the interplay between legal and businessAbility to interact effectively with management and product teamStrong negotiation and drafting skillsBeing progressive and having passion for the lawAt Aave we value wellbeing of our employee and you will enjoy flexibility in time and work management.
