Job Description

My client is a commercial law firm based in the heart of Londons historic legal district in Lincolns Inn. Founded in the early 1900s, they have grown to become a thriving and modern practice, providing a comprehensive range of legal services to meet theneeds of a wide variety of businesses, individuals and organisation based throughout the UK and overseas.They are now looking for a Legal Billing Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.Responsibilities

  • Sharing in processing between 800 - 1000 bills per month
  • Sole ownership, monitoring and clearance of the firms billing inbox in conjunction with the Legal Biller
  • Working closely with the Working Capital Manager and Revenue Control Team to reduce WIP and commence prebills.
  • Reviewing all bills received from partners and fee earners for correct VAT and disbursement treatment
  • Ensuring write off approvals are obtained and the write off policy followed when posting bills
  • Actioning WIP write-off requests via £0 prebill posting
  • Liaising with fee earners, secretaries and other members of staff to solve prebill queries prior to billing
  • Producing credit notes within the billing process
  • Dealing with disbursement queries at the point of billing
  • Taking ownership of the firms ebilling requirements
Candidate Profile
  • The successful candidate must have previous Law firm experience. Previous experience of Aderant is preferred.
  • Experience of ebilling is preferred, including LEDES files
  • Be up to date with all SRA regulations, knowledge of the current VAT rules and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
  • Confident with numbers, attention to detail.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be able to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Friendly and team player and the ability to work under pressure
