Lead Specialist Advisor, Regulatory Approaches Location: Flexible Grade & Salary: G7, £38,922 rising to £43,649 over four years Post number: 202824 Type of contract: Fixed term until 31 May 2022 Work pattern: Full TimeClosing date: 15 September 2021Benefits:Civil Service pension, 28 days annual leave, rising to 33 days over 5 years, flexible working options, occupational health including counselling and advisory services and eye care, childcare vouchers and salary sacrifice schemes.Role PurposeTo provide theexpert lead on forestry regulation (and support wider delivery of the teams workplan as appropriate) and manage the delivery of NRW programmes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of regulation processes. This will translate Welsh & UK Government policyinto practical approaches to the point of delivery. You will promote and be guided by our Regulatory Principles.You will work with colleagues from other teams in NRM Policy and Operations, officials from WG and sector representatives. Qualifications and SkillsKnowledgeof Welsh, UK and EU legislation related to your specific sector(s); Welsh, UK government Policy drivers in your specific sector(s). Experience in informing and influencing government departments/regulators, preferably on environmental issues. Extensive experiencein forming and maintaining close links with internal and external partners/stakeholders to deliver the outcomes of both a specific function/project/team and the wider organisation. Experience of understanding and applying regulatory activities. Be able towork at pace and have a track record of delivery. Being innovative and demonstrating drive to achieve targets. You will be expected to keep up to date with changing regulatory policy and proposed changes to legislation via membership of a relevant professionalbody or other equivalent means.Please visit our website to apply
