Job Description

Our client, a well-established and recognised brand, are currently hiring for an experienced Lead Product Designer who will act as an external consultant and be a true customer advocate in the Digital and CX team.Responsibilities

  • Set the standard for Product Design, educating and coaching teams in taking customer centred, outcome focused approaches to problem solving
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, product teams, content specialists and insights teams to ensure alignment
  • Set direction, working hands on and with agencies to assure efficient and effective delivery of experiences
  • Ensure that teams take a user-centred, evidence-based approach to product design and development.
  • Mentor other members of staff in product design approaches and help raise the influence of human-centred design as part of the wider CX team
  • Run and lead design workshops such as problem framing, design sprints and the like
  • Manage a small team of designers and support their ongoing development
  • Support the design team to work towards a single coherent vision of the customer experience with appropriate principles, frameworks and tools
  • Oversee design across several scrum teams, championing our agile processes and ensuring that the team is delivering high quality customer experiences
  • Ensure stakeholders understand the benefit of measuring the user experience and are fully equipped to do so
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of our design tools and frameworks including the Design System, experience principles and ways of working
  • Stay abreast of market, technological and industry trends, tools and techniques to inform decision-making
  • Essential Requirements
  • Proven record of leading Product Design in agile cross-functional teams, with experience working client-side for a large eCommerce or Consumer focused organisation
  • Solid portfolio of work, demonstrating customer centred approach and commercial impact of design work, showcaseing visual design as well as user experience design in an e-commerce business/environment.
  • Previous experience as a facilitator/consultant, with demonstrable experience applying a range of methods from Design Thinking to Design Sprints
  • Experience working with analytics teams to derive data to drive design decisions and benchmark impact
  • Solid experience working end-to-end to understand the right thing to design right through to designing the right thing to deliver value to customers and business
  • Skilled user of common design and collaboration software such as Miro, Axure, Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Invision
  • This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday. This is a 100% home-based/remote working role.This is an immediate start contract role (outside of IR35) which will run initially for 4 months, although this may extend on an ongoing basis.Our client offers an excellent remuneration package and excellent career progression prospects.Please apply online to be considered.
