AboutIn partnership with other Design Leads you will grow and deliver our Product Design capabilities across this group globally in collaboration with (but not limited to) Content & Storytelling, Commerce, Audience Development, and Commercial. The role will partnerwith the Product Management and Engineering organisations to envision and ship product experiences to delight our users, but also drive engagement and loyalty to provide increased and new revenue streams for the business.The teamYou will be working alongside international colleagues across the world, working with stakeholders in our US and UK HQs as well as within our 10 other markets. We strongly emphasise cross-functional working through partnering directly with our functionalpillars in GPT for Product, Engineering, Architecture, Design, UX and Delivery; as well as our business partners in Consumer Marketing, Commerce, Commercial and Licensing, Editorial and Data.We are a team of experienced designers with expertise in customer experience & product design, brand identity, user experience (UX), visual design interaction design, and research.We partner closely with editorial, product management, engineering, and business partners to strategise, design, and launch effective and beautiful digital products.We believe that a well-formed design culture is essential to delivering excellent products.What will you be doing
  • Align with key stakeholders to map and define the strategic end to end customer experience
  • Develop briefs and activation frameworks to enable Product Design and content teams to translate high level strategic thinking into tangible customer experience and design solutions.
  • Design with a customer centric lens but with business outcomes in mind and technical feasibility at its core
  • Employ user research, and analytics data to develop a deep understanding of how users engage, what matters to them and identify pain points
  • Contribute to the product design priorities to inform strategic roadmap, translating business needs into creative and user experience opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product, experience design and technology leads to develop high level strategic plans that will meet customer needs and deliver against commercial targets.
  • Lead on design practices that focus on concepting, prototyping and testing early in the process.
  • Guide the creative vision and execution for the product brands digital visual identity aligned Verso design system and principles.
  • Create compelling narratives, prototypes and stories to present persuasive strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Design and facilitate workshops to encourage collaborative ownership of problems and defining collective plans of action
Leadership & Partnership responsibilities
  • Build shared ownership of problem solving, and collaborative methods of prioritisation and decision making.
  • Empower and mentor a team of Product designers and user researchers to foster a cohesive, committed, passionate, productive, and positive environment within a growing team.
Who you are
  • Strong experience leading cross-platform digital experiences at consumer-focused technology or media companies.
  • Exceptional track record to empower and manage teams of designers, to help them grow and succeed.
  • Experience leading and building world class subscription product experiences, streamline workflows with continuous iteration and improvement. Data and iteration are second nature to you, but you know when to experiment with new propositions.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal skills, to clearly communicate and lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Mastery and able to guide on user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design.
