Job Description

As a Lead in CDN Engineering you will be joining a leader in that space from an end client perspective, a global player in their field, based in the vibrant East End of London.You will be working:

  • As part of a small, high performing team where you actually will have a major influence and can see the impact you make
  • As a Network Engineer you will be using CDN to deliver video streaming using scaled web applications solutions to millions of users
  • On CDN which is very much your baby, you work closely with other teams therefore benefit to have an understanding of their side but CDN is your concern
  • With a Network Engineering Team, Content Acquisitions Team, Content Processing Team etc. on complete scaled solutions for web applications that ultimately deliver video streaming to millions of users
  • In a key role and although you are leading technically, helping make key strategic decisions this is absolutely a hands on under the bonnet technical skills

  • Are an experienced Network Engineer whose has current and preferably extensive experience with CDN ( Content Delivery Networks ) in any sector
  • Come from any sector dealing with huge user volumes and using CDN to deliver high availability web applications and services
  • Have strong working experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and Internet Peering strategies
  • Have experience of Automating CDN and Deploying CDN ( essential )
  • Have good working experience in Linux operating systems
  • Have sound knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols, specifically with routing and switching technologies and protocols, particularly TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP
  • Have worked with Scaled Web Applications from a CDN perspective before and you get scaling on ISP
  • You should be interested in the complete CDN route, even if it falls out with your remit you like to know how it all comes together, you want to learn, you follow market trends
  • including last mile performance for the users / consumers
  • the Infrastructure in the middle
  • the first mile (content acquisition and processing)
  • the D-mark
  • the Linear of Vod Catalogues
  • Must have worked at Scale with Content Delivery Network but open on sectors, you can come from for example FinTech, Media, Internet Economies, E-commerce etc. basically anywhere that use Content Distribution Network to deliver high availability web applications and services
  • Would be at an advantage if your CDN experience had delivered video but totally open to any kind of messaging delivery using CDN as the principles are the same
  • Open to someone from a Dynamic Traffic Delivery background or a Static Traffic Delivery background or a bit of both
