My client is an award winning company and work with some cutting edge technologies, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands onLead DevOps Enginee rwho comes from a senior, team lead or managerial background.Role Objectives -Lead DevOps EngineerThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is working in a leadership role in Operations/DevOps/SRE.Were looking for someone who has a passion for technology, SRE, DevOps, a hunger to learn, and the professionalism required in a mission critical role. Our close-knit team of operations engineers automate everything; system administration, continuous integration,deployments, monitoring, metrics and tooling. They enjoy working on complex problems with others and are not afraid to span the stack from the network all the way to building and extending tools.As the team lead in operations, youll be responsible for defining, innovating and improving our CI/CD process. Youll make sure an idea flows from a developers workstation to production in a clean, predictable and automated fashion.Once its in production,its in front of users all over the world. You must have an analytical mind,be highly organisedand possessstrong Linux skills. You will have experience leading a successful team of operations engineers and youll be looking for the next step.Our relaxed, informal office is in a Central London location and many members of the team are remote workers, and this role can be predominately remote.Responsibilities -Lead DevOps Engineer

• Understand our company strategy and roadmap and work alongsidethe Senior Leadership team to drive company vision and strategy
• Work with the CTO to propose well-architected designs and develop a wide range of key systems
• Attracting, managing, mentoring and developing members of the Ops team in order to retain world-class employees
• Defining the roadmap for the Ops team to follow, bringing the team with you
• Working directly with our tier one clients, owning the technical relationship, to facilitate integrations and resolve issues
• Ultimate ownership of the production platform
• Enabling my client to keep creating secure, reliable, repeatable production roll-outs of the platform.
• Collaborating within Engineering to define SLOs and measure SLIs
• Balance short-term, incremental improvements with long-term, game-changing initiatives.
• Investigating new technologies that advance the observability and performance of our platform
• Taking ownership of tasks, communicating ideas and decisions throughout the team and ensuring tasks are fully completed to a high quality and on time

Requirements -Lead DevOps Engineer

• Proven experience running a team in an agile, fast-paced and product-oriented environment as a Head of Ops/SRE or team lead role.
• An understanding of modern infrastructure design & administration, experience of using one or more of AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure and using Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools
• Strong Unix/Linux administration skills, that includes understanding TCP/IP networking, scripting (Bash or Python)
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery (tooling and approach)
• A dislike of ad-hoc or manual processes, enjoyment ofautomating them away and experience of doing this using one or more of Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt etc.
• Experience of, or the ability to be part of an operations on-call rotation responsible for mission critical systems
• Strong teamwork, written and oral communication skills

Desirable Attributes -Lead DevOps Engineer

• An appreciation for security, both in design & operation
• Experience working in remote teams
• Experience of or a strong desire to be part of a larger engineering organisation
• Experience building, operating, maintaining & scaling RabbitMQ/AMQP, Java & Postgres
• A degree in a relevant discipline

Skills & Experience -Lead DevOps EngineerWe are looking for self-motivated and driven individuals who possess solid analytical skills. Candidates must be able to work to tight deadlines whilst directing a team of Ops engineers and have good communication and advanced stakeholder management skills.Ideally, candidates will have some knowledge or experience in a Fintech or Bank, or another similar area such as Insurance.
