Job Description

This is an extraordinary experience.Based in our brand new, state-of-the-art head office in Tolworth, our IT Business Consulting department is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and driven Lead Developer to join the team and build a career in a stimulating and international environment.Lidl GB is part of the Schwarz Group, currently the 4th largest retailer in the world which comprise of 5,500 people in IT globally.Our Solutions Development team provides IT solutions to the wider business and are striving for increased velocity and agility in solutions delivery. As a Lead Developer, you will be instrumental in establishing and leading a team of developers and externalresources skilled in different platforms and languages to contribute to a diverse number of solutions development projects on both a national and international scale.We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles, with only 3 days in the office per week ensuring you have a flexible work life balance.   • Manage the development pipeline for both internally and externally developed solutions
  • Ensure excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide solutions to the business in a cost-efficient way whilst maintaining security, functionality and time-to-market
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the technical infrastructure as well as components / platforms in use
  • Continuously tracks the progress and targets relating to individual personal development plans
The position will have ongoing support and investment in keeping your tech skills current. What youll needr
  • Demonstrable knowledge of either C# or .NET or Java or low-code platforms such as OutSystems or Mendix
  • Knowledge of architectural elements, in particular API and microservices
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar pipeline management tools
  • Experience of managing multiple development streams with both internal and external partners
  • Good quality control, application security and governance practices
  • The ability to identify and develop talent
  • The ability to liaise and communicate at both a technical and non-technical level
  • Experience of cost and internal/ external resource management
  • Occasional travel to European countries required
