Post: Lead Agile Business Analyst for HDR UK GatewayLocation: FlexibleContract: 12 months Fixed Term ContractReporting to: Chief Product OwnerAbout Health Data Research UKHealth Data Research UK (HDR UK) is the national Institute for data science in health.Our UK team of experts develop and apply cutting-edge data science approaches to clinical, biological, genomic and other multi-dimensional health data to address the most pressing health research challenges facing the public. Our mission is to make game-changingimprovements in the health of patients and populations through data science research and innovation.For the first time we are bringing together the UKs population-wide health data assets, enabling specialists across academia, industry and healthcare to unlockknowledge and deliver new insights from molecules to humans. Purpose of the postHDR UK requires the services of an experienced Lead Agile Business Analysts to help define the functionality for the next stage of healthdatagateway.org (Gateway) and associated services.Therole will involve defining the requirements and user stories for the 2021-23 product roadmap and associated materials releases (trusted research environments, partner organisations, publications and data sets) for the gateway. You will help own the Gatewayproduct and drive innovation in line with business strategies and goals.Manage and co-ordinate the expectations of multiple interested parties with different requirements and timelines. Provide clarity to the delivery organisation on the structure and planningfor releases. Document user stories and business benefits for different requirements.Main ResponsibilitiesYour role will be to lead the work of the subject experts in Health Data Science and help them apply their expertise to our design and delivery work andensure that our curriculum and our training portfolio addresses skills gaps in the highest priority areas in health data science, enabling the biggest impact to transform lives. You will identify and utilise existing and emerging effective practice, evidenceand research for course design and delivery.You will also identify the relevant competency frameworks and map our offering against this, identify gaps and plan training and education to fill these gaps. You will also proactively seek and build relationshipswith the relevant professional bodies and seek accreditations that are most compelling and most relevant for our audience.With strong educational credentials, you will build our external presence, influence and credibility. You will also be responsible forthe continuous review and assessment of our curriculum offer. You will also manage course evaluation which will help ensure our products are high impact and effective.Key Responsibilities Agile Business Analyst: Document user stories and end-to-end user journeysto provide simple and compelling user experiences Help the Product Owner prioritise and build the feature roadmaps Define acceptance criteria for each user story Document stories in JIRA Manage the product roadmap in specific areas such as Data Access RequestsDocument acceptance criteria in JIRA Breakdown large complex stories into right sized stories deliverable within sprints Support the product owner with backlog grooming and sprint look aheads Run Sprint planning sessions for scoping individual sprints andtranslating stories for developers and test acceptance criteriaOrganisation Liaison: Working closely with HDR UK internal units for defining their requirements for 2021-23 deliverables. Working in conjunction with a split team between internal and externalresources Managing sprints & stories for development teamsTeam working & management responsibility: Working with the Product Owner on the product strategy, product roadmap and user centric design Working with designers for the UX/UI side of all stories Workingwith UAT teams for agreement on specifications Working with scrum master for planning sprints and releases Working with the technical lead to ensure stories are deliverable within sprints Participate in 3 ways with developers and testers to ensure common understandingof stories Working in an agile manner Working with Behaviour Driven Development Self-starter able to manage complex interlinking demand and requirementsDecision making: The post-holder will make all day-to-day operational decisions for their own workload Directinvolvement in all product roadmapsContinuous Improvement:HDR UK is dedicated to continuous improvement through our quality management system and demonstrated by our commitment to achieve ISO 9001 accreditation. The post-holder will review, analyse, identifyand implement opportunities for quality improvement within their specialism and as part of the wider team through our strategy development and internal audit processes.Key contacts / relationships:Work collaboratively across the internal organization (CTOsoffice) and externally with 3rd party System Integrators, software vendors, infrastructure providers and end-users (academics and corporate users). Work closely with the internal domain leads owners and the external UX/UI designers. Quality control the workof the external providers.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Essential: Minimum of five years experience in a Business Analyst role working in Agile environment Experience in working on complex and competing user stories Experience in articulating complexoften conflicting concepts Managing running design workshops for elucidating requirements, defining stories, defining test & acceptance criteria and explaining complex concepts to developers Passion for customer centricity Alignment to the HDR UK values. Experienceof working in an agile development approach and being integral member of a scrumDesirable: Previous management experience of design and UI/UX resource Experience using Confluence, JIRA, Trello and similar Agile project management tools. Experience with pagedesign tools Previous implementation experience of working in a BDD or TDD environment An understanding of research delivery within the public sector, academia and/or industry. Experience of working within Healthcare, UK Public Sector or AcademiaDimensionsThis is a full-time 5 day per week role as part of 12 month Fixed Term Contract As a result of the pandemic, staff are currently working remotely.
