Role: Kitting ManagerContract Length: 6 monthsLocation: LondonIR35: InsideSecurity Clearance: BPSSSeeking a National Kitting Manager to oversee a multi-shed national kitting operation. This operation is a semi-automated solution, operated and managed by a 3PL in conjunction with an automation provider. As we rely heavily on third party suppliers for our kitting needs, the role will involve fostering and managing working relationships with 3PLs (including ensuring that our contracts are fit for purpose and negotiating with our Procurement Team on rates.). Similarly improving the kitting activity requires engagement with product development and design teams to ensure that new products introduced can maintain and improve kitting efficiency. Therefore managing the long-term relationships between DHSC Supply Chain, product design teams and our external logistics partners require working with different internal stakeholders on a regular basis, ensuring the successful candidate will be an excellent communicatorDefining the national kitting strategy and supporting the long-term relationship between DHSC and our external logistic partners• Liaises with product development teams and logistic providers to introduce new products and develop optimum kitting procedures for new products• Manage the long term kitting forecast, reviewing capacity in collaboration with our logistic partners• Executes performance metric reviews for the kitting process and derives improvement plans from it• Drives continuous improvement initiative with the logistic and automation providers to improve cost and efficiency• Manages kitting related escalations• Drives innovation by taking ownership of new kitting projects and its operational success• Supports the Head of Warehousing to ensure improvement initiatives are aligned and end-to-end strategy is coherent across the logistic operationsMinimum Requirement:1) SME role - Kitting operations and warehouse operations experience, audit skills.2) Supply chain background some change management3) Pharmaceutical background is a must and experience of MHRA (Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency4) Expected to travel across UK to different warehouses 2-3 times a week Required skills
