Job Description

WALTER AND MONTY is a fast paced restaurant established in 2015 and based in the city (originally a street food vendor), serving barbecued meats and salads. As Head Chef, you are overlooking day to day kitchen operations and ensure all cookingduties are carried out efficiently and responsibly.ABOUT YOU!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served according to WM specs
  • Train & support the kitchen team with all food preparation, preparing meat & veg and portioning
  • Overseeing the kitchen team training at all levels
  • Boost efficiency on barbecue grill / meat carving station
  • Promote and enforce high standards and presentation of food at all times
  • Manage and ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen / BOH follow our standards
  • Working with General Manager to bring new dishes alive, pricing and establishing portioning sizes
  • Maintain adequate daily stock levels and responsible for the weekly inventory count
  • Flexible and willing to carry other duties that are reasonable to this position, but not listed
  • Adhere to the current food health and safety regulations
This role will enable you to explore and develop all aspects of how our kitchen works and acquire new skills in a fun and creative environment. Were currently expanding our offsite catering services much further - this is an exciting opportunity if youare ambitious and creative person to put your own input to help on growth and developing our catering and offsite events.WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Hours: 44 hours per week
Permanent position after 3 months upon a successful probation review
  • Salary: Up to 37k per year + Performance bonus
