Global, independent commodity trading company covering oil, gas and power markets has an exciting opportunity for a Trading Analyst to support the fundamental analysis team within their Oil Trading business in providing market leading proprietary research covering crude oil physical and paper markets.Principally, the role is focussed on using multiple sources to research operations, maintenance and construction of refineries globally as this forms a critical part of the framework that their trading business uses to generate trading value. In addition the analyst will assist in other market analysis work to understand global flows of crude oil, feedstock and condensate.The role is likely to evolve over time, you would probably start as a junior analyst but may also support in risk and P&L reporting, below is a list of responsibilities the role is likely to carry at the outset:*Collate information from multiple sources relating to the refineries globally daily*Discuss with representatives from external sources to establish view on which source has correct information*Timely input/upload of data into the companys database and maintain the current company view*Highlight meaningful changes to trading teams *Liaise with traders and analysts across various desks for information and intelligence sharing *Work with programmer to improve efficiency of database user interfaceThe Candidate:*Graduate in related field with at least 1-2 years experience in a trading environment.*Comfortable with large volumes of data and can spot trends in the data*Numerate and analytical mindset*Attention to detail and pride in work done well*Can handle repetitive work as they can see the eventual benefit of the work*Moderate to advanced MS Excel ability (VBA, SQL, Tableau skills a big plus)*Comfortable with uncertainty and potentially conflicting sources of data*Multi-tasker/flexible and must be able to work under pressure and manage quickly changing workload at times*An understanding of the relationships between operation of refinery units welcome but not essentialWe believe in equality of opportunity for all job applicants regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, creed or religion, disability, sexual orientation or age.Specialising within Energy Trading, Oil & Gas, Financial Markets and TV & Entertainment, Eaglecliff Recruitment is ISO accredited, a Member of REC and listed within the top 4% for Financial stability by Dun & Bradstreet.
