  • About the roleYou’ll be reporting directly to our Head of Construction and will play a meaningful role in delivering our pipeline of new sites.We take a range of tired & run-down buildings including old churches, bingo halls, office buildings & schools and transform them into state-of-the-art nurseries. Each project typically takes 12-18 months & we can have up to 10 projects on the go at any one time!What you will be doing
  • You’ll be supporting Pete, our experienced (8 years at Tesco, 4 at M&S) team leader, in the development of our new sites.
  • You’ll be learning from the best on all aspects of construction delivery, from design & planning, detailed drawings, onsite contractor delivery & hand-over to our operational teams.
  • You’ll be given targets around on-time & on-budget delivery of projects & given high levels of autonomy to deliver within the role.
  • The projects we manage are complex with multiple-stakeholders (architects, contractors, investors, surveyors etc, alongside internal stake-holders, including our CEO & Board of Directors) and you’ll be responsible for ensuring project plans are kept up to date and accurate ensuring the whole project team are delivering in line with the project programme.
  • Youll be required to attend regular project and progress meetings, with responsibility for taking notes & ensuring action plans are written up and communicated post-meetings.
  • You’ll have oversight for the administration of the building contract & project documentation.
  • You’ll assist in the production of project management plans and programmes.
  • You’ll be responsible for the creation & delivery of regular progress reports, including relevant risks and issues, and the submission of change papers where required.
  • You’ll be responsible for the promotion of commercial awareness throughout the project.
  • You’ll also have exposure to acquisitions & have time in the week to visit new sites & work on bids.
  • About YouWe are looking for someone who gets a real buzz out of being organised! You need to have a desire for getting into the detail & an ability to make sure a large group of people are all moving in the same direction.You’ll need an appetite for taking on large amounts of responsibility & thrive in a high-pressure environment.Other specifics:
  • Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Project Management or similar technical discipline would be an advantage but not mandatory.
  • A desire to work towards MAPM/MRICS/MCIOB membership of other relevant professional body.
  • Excellent IT skills (we use google suite, excel & some specific PM software).
  • Experience of managing the delivery of projects.
