Job Description

A Wealth & Asset Management business are looking to recruit a Junior Legal Counsel, reporting into the Head of Legal, working on an initial 6 month fixed term contract.Main Responsibilities

  • The role requires managing legal workload, prioritising appropriately, attention to detail, strong drafting skills and a flexible approach to represent the Legal function with key stakeholders.
  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of matters in relation to UK law and regulation governing the provision of wealth management services and products to high and ultra high net worth clients.
  • Provide legal advice in relation to UK law and regulation affecting the firm and its staff, including reviewing and negotiating agreements with the firms counterparties and service providers, as well as matters relating to human resources and dispute resolution.
  • Manage Legal team projects such as reviewing client Terms of Business and maintaining precedent clauses and template agreements.
  • Participate in firm projects and initiatives as required.
  • Develop and provide input into a variety of policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external counsel and/or specialists as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 months PQE, ideally working within a similar financial services business or private practice with an FS focus.
  • Qualified solicitor
  • Ability to analyse and interpret relevant regulatory and legal documents.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with all levels of staff across the business.
  • Professional qualifications, preferable.
