Junior Grid EngineerUp to £50,000 DOELondon based, hybrid model (3 days in office a week)Specialised development, acquisition and operation platform of solar, wind and BESS in the UK. Their goal is to be the UKs leading Independent Power Provide, and with over 3GW of connections already agreed, they are well on their way to achieving this. Now, they are looking for a Grid Engineer to join this mission. They are a joint venture between two major investment platforms in the space, specialising in the development of greenfield renewable projects as well as the acquisition of ready to build projects. They have a strong financial backing from these companies,whilst remaining autonomous in their work, as they have their own directors. The in house team has a wealth of experience, stemming from a range of industry leaders to collaborate on this venture. They are developing the company to move into the IPP world, as well as into new technologies. They currently cover a variety of onshore renewable technologies, mainly centred around solar and hybrid sites. Their connections are at both distribution and transmissionlevel and this variety across their projects and connections has seen them successfully gain 3GW worth of connections over the last 2 years. Given their collective track record in the industry, they are a trusted and reliable partner in the space. They value entrepreneurial spirit within their teams, the JV is relatively early on in their lifecycle. Over the last 4 years, theyve quadrupled in sizeand are set to continue this strong growth over the coming years. Pro-activity and problem solving are also key skills they seek in their team members. The role:Youd have the opportunity to work alongside their Grid Manager, who has extensive experience in the distribution network. Youd be working together on connection agreements, communicating with DNOs and TOs as well as expanding your knowledge of the UK gridconnection process from them. This is a crucial role for the team, supporting one of their most successful departments to ensure their pipeline continues to grow. Your key responsibilities will be:- Completing G99 applications and ensuing projects hit major milestones. It will be your responsibility to ensure projects are compliant for these major milestones too. - Liaising and communicating with DNOs and TOs. - Managing existing pipelines and supporting the team to expand this pipeline. - Finding and sourcing grid connection opportunities for capacity.- Staying up to date on relevant policies and communicating these to the rest of the teams. - Managing all relevant stakeholders.Ideally for this role, a degree in electrical engineering and power systems would be valuable, or relevant industry experience with UK grid connection codes and processes.
