Job Description

Role: Junior Financial Controller || Salary: £60,000-£65,000 plus bonusThis is a broad finance role to join an SME investment management firm who provide seed funding to new businesses.They have a small finance team as they use outsourced accountants to do most of the production work which you will review. The benefit of this is it will be just you and the CFO initially so you will gain great exposure and take on a lot of responsibilityquickly as the business grows.Some of the key areas you will be responsible for are:

  • Reviewing the financial statements provided by outsourced accountants
  • Management accounting and analysis for the CFO, COO and CEO
  • Accounts payable and payroll which is managed in-house
  • Produce annual budgeting and forecast and own the FP&A processes to develop and improve them
  • Production of VAT and Regulatory returns
This role is well suited to someone who is a recently qualified accountant and is either making their first move from Practice or has experience working in a finance team elsewhere.The CFO described this role as being perfect for someone who wants to gain a broad range of finance experience and would be looking to progress into an FD / CFO role within an SME in 7-10 years time.In our company values we aim for equity at all stages of the recruitment process, please let us know if we can do anything to make the process more accessible to you.
