Job Description

A successful, international company is looking for a Japanese to German Translator to join their exciting organisation on a 1 year fixed-term contract. You will be responsible for translating video games content from Japanese into German. The role will start remotely but you may be required to work from the office later on.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translating and proofreading video games content from Japanese into German
  • Supporting various managers on a project basis
  • Working closely with other languages to keep a high level of quality across all languages
  • Ensuring the consistency of the content, ensuring that the language style is accurate and adhering to the guidelines
    • About you:In order to succeed in this role, you will need excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. You will be fluent in German to a native level and have a keen interest in German culture, as well as have fluent Japanese and English language skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Japanese to German Translator with a passion for video games to gain experience within a successful company and to be involved in a creative and professional team in London.Profile:
  • Required to be fluent in German to a native level, both written and spoken
  • Fluency in Japanese (N1 or N2 level) and English, both written and spoken
  • Previous experience in translation, transcreation, localisation, copywriting or proofreading
  • Experience with or an interest in video games is a must
  • Experience with CAT tools, preferably MemoQ
  • Understanding of and exposure to German culture
  • Attention to detail and great communication and organisational skills
  • Based in and have the right to work in the UK
