Job Description

1st and 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, Legal IT OR IT Graduate OR Experienced IT Support Engineer1st and 2nd Line IT Support Engineer required to work for a Law Firm based in Central London. This will be an initial 6 month fixed-term-contract.We could look for 3 types of people here - either someone with the Legal IT experience who is familiar with the standard Legal IT applications-suite…OR we could look at an IT Graduate who has some commercial IT Support exposure…OR someone with good, solid 1st and 2nd line support experience but with the right attitude to learn the Legal IT applications and turn this into a real success. As a lot of your stakeholders will be lawyers, you must be excellent with people and must have a sense of resilience and professionalism about you.The 6 months FTC agreement is likely to be converted into a permanent deal providing you prove yourself and do the right things.Read on for more details…Responsibilities Include

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line user support and incident resolution via telephone, remote connection and desk-side visits
  • Participate in problem management to help prevent incidents or reoccurring incidents through trends and patterns, working with colleagues and external suppliers as required
  • Maintain records within service management toolset of incidents, requests, problems and asset changes. Taking appropriate action to ensure incidents are managed in a timely manner
  • Resolving customer issues or escalating where necessary, aiming to achieve a high % first time fix and positive customer experience
  • Set-up users, computers, mobile devices, other peripherals and access rights on the approved systems as directed and in accordance with agreed policies
  • Proactively look for ways to improve customer processes or support operations including the creation of support documentation
  • Run new joiner IT inductions and drop in technical hints and tips sessions to our users.

  • Technical Skills & Experience
  • Experience working in a similar role, preferably within the legal sector, with a similar team size
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to extract relevant information quickly and effectively
  • Windows 10 and SCCM; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Office 365 suite including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and Endpoint Manager (InTune)
  • iManage Filesite and Work 10, Bighand, Aderant Expert and PDFDocs (preferred)
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
  • Microsoft certification desirable
  • ITIL v3/v4 foundation certificate desirable
  • Other professional qualifications such as CompTIA would be desirable
