Our client is currently recruiting for a highly motivated Plant IT Solutions Engineer. As a Plant IT Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for providing IT expertise for a growing Digital Application Projects business, focusing on the integration of the clients solutions with real-time plant IT systems including plant historian, distributed control system, SQL server, considering existing plant safety and cybersecurity policies and plant operations workflows.Key duties *Work with in-house and external expert users to improve the general robustness, performance, usability and workflows of these components*Resolve critical bug fixes quickly*Provide technical support to internal and external customers*Be a true software craftsperson, aiming at long-term testable and maintainable solutions to challenging problems*Be product-minded and commercially focused, understanding client requirements and collaborating closely with other developers, Quality Assurance group and Consultant Engineers.Skills required *Demonstrable knowledge of IT and cybersecurity systems relevant to process plants, including managing Windows environments, including authentication, LDAP, authorization and logging vulnerability reporting tools communication protocols like ODBC (or JDBC), OPC etc., networking: routing, access permissions, user management, protocols for OPC, including DCOM and tunnelling solutions, VPN *Security and plant cybersecurity*Virtualisation technology, *Familiarity with the .NET framework*3-5 years professional experience in chemical plant operations or plant automation, *Demonstrable knowledge of plant systems, including Plant historians *Distributed Control Systems*SQL Server & PYTHON, C++, Fortran experienceBenefits *Flexible working*26 days of holiday per year, plus 8 days of statutory Bank Holidays*Company pension*Medical insurance*Group life assurance*Comprehensive internal and external training programme*Excellent career development*Cycle-to-work scheme*Perkbox discount platform*Great office environment, with free fruit, coffee and biscuits, and regular social events*Reimbursement of professional registration and cost of professional books*Internal coaching sessions with a Professional Coach
