With the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the PwC Network Data Protection Programme (NDPP), the position of Data Protection Officer is important and particularly so for ITSCo which has data processing at its core. ITSCos compliance with data protection law is crucial to the compliance of PwC member firms, enabling them to consume IT infrastructure and support services in a compliant manner.We are looking for a data protection lawyer who will fulfill the position of the DPO function to support ITSCo with compliance with the PwC Network Standards, the NDPP, GDPR and other regulatory privacy regulations.With an increasing amount of activity moving to ITSCo and the need to handle data appropriately as the entity expands, we are looking to hire an experienced data protection lawyer.The individual will need to be able to: inform and advise ITSCo and its personnel who carry out processing of their obligations pursuant GDPR and other Union or Member State data protection provisions; monitor compliance with GDPR, with other Union or Member State data protection provisions and with PwC policies in relation to the protection of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and the related audits; provide advice where requested with regards to Article 30 records of processing activity, DPRAs and the data protection impact assessment and monitor its performance pursuant to Article 35; cooperate with any supervisory authority; act as the contact point for any supervisory authority on issues relating to processing, including the prior consultation referred to in Article 36, and to consult, where appropriate, with regard to any other matter. Inform and advise ITSCo about its obligations pursuant to the GDPR, the NDPP and the PwC Network Standards including in particular the scope of ITSCos role as a data processor as defined by Article 28 GDPR. Define privacy-related risks and communicate them as practical guidance to ITSCo. Support the data incident response and data breach notification procedures. Support and advise the Compliance Officer & CISO with regard to all appropriate data protection matters Liaise with and advise Global OGC lawyers with regard to data protection matters With regard to the duties listed above, carry out those duties within the remit of Article 38 GDPR.Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience Data protection lawyer with at least 10 years or more professional experience as a data protection lawyer, consultant, data protection officer or IT security manager. Preferred certification(s): CIPP (particularly Europe), CIPM and/or solid 10+ yrs Data Protection experience in a multi-national organization. Expert knowledge of data protection legislation including the GDPR. Sound knowledge of information security management and the relevant standards, e.g. ISO 27001. Experience in a similar type of role in a multinational business and dealing with DPAs, government and industry bodies. Basic understanding of business and IT processes. Ability to make good judgements regarding data protection risks and to prioritize resources and activity around managing those risks. Ability to tailor advice to specific needs of the business and apply common sense and practical solutions. Ability to adapt to change and to be open minded and innovative in their thinking. Confident manner, initiate, mobility and team spirit. Excellent presentation and communication skill in English.
