The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic imitative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European, and global level. As towns, cities, and countriesaround the world declare climate emergencies, seas rise, forests burn, glaciers melt, increasing numbers of people take to the streets demanding urgent action and our societies begin to wake up what science has been saying for many years, there has never beena more important time to working on climate change. The ECFc strategic communications team is the outreach unit of the foundation. Its role is to act as a centre of expertise for communication on climate change and to play an active role in helping createmore political, media, and public endorsement for action on climate change at an international, national, and sectoral level. Team members deliver strategic advice, communications, and outreach support to ECFs programmes and its grantees, and work as partof a global network of communications experts to enhance the public debate on climate change and its solutions more broadly. This IT Manager position will be responsible for streamlining, developing, and running an excellent set of IT systems to support thework of an international, remote-first team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly driven professional who wants to deploy their technical and systems wizardry to a growing international team in a non-profit context. Key responsibilitiesEstablishing systems to meet the day-to-day IT needs of a global team Optimising and further developing an existing suite of online tools, including core email and internal communications systems, and other IT systems as needed, and advising on provision ofhardware as needed Ensuring IT support infrastructure is in place for team members Overseeing auditing and strengthening of IT security for a global team, including training colleagues to improve their online security, working with or commissioning externalconsultants and security experts, and developing IT security best practice Overseeing IT training and inductions to colleagues Deploying new tools and systems that involve specific internal communications needs and managing pre-production environments Overseeingan IT budget for the strategic communications team Developing, maintaining and documenting robust systems and procedures What do you need to apply for this role Strategic thinking and the ability to scope, design, and implement robust IT solutions for remoteinternational teams Service orientation and the ability to identify and articulate IT business needs in collaboration with colleagues Good technical familiarity with configuring and deploying common online communications tool suites A drive to innovate andstreamline systems, and the ability to creatively solve problems A significant interest in climate and the environment
