Job Description

Morgan Hunt are urgently recruiting for a part time, experienced IT Lecturer to join the department at an East London based CollegeMorgan Hunt are currently assisting a highly reputable Further Education and Training College in East London to recruit an IT Lecturer. The successful candidate will deliver the Support Work in Schools and Colleges short course at Levels 1, 2 & 3. This position is a temporary-ongoing contract that is anticipated to last until July 2020, with the view to continue in the new academic year.The IT Lecturer will be responsible for:

  • Delivering the full Further Education and Training specification in STLS (Support Work in Schools and Colleges)
  • Planning and coordinating lessons, resources and support to enable learners to achieve their qualifications
  • Using the Colleges online systems to track progress and attendance
  • Quality delivery of interactive lessons to learners with clear lesson objectives
  • Motivate and inspire learners using up-to-date teaching methodology
  • Set and monitor regular, challenging homework in line with student abilities
  • Keep in line with quality assurance (collect learner views, lesson observation, working through action plan)
  • Attend meetings and any training days/inset days
  • Ensure accurate completion of class registers at all times, stay on top of admin work and marking
  • Any other duties as required by the College
    • The IT Lecturer will:
  • Have substantial experience the Further Education and Training sector
  • Hold a UK recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education)
  • Have previous experience working as a IT Lecturer and a successful track record in retention and achievement
  • Hold a Level 3 or above qualification in the subject area
  • Hold GCSEs in both Maths and English, at grade A-C or equivalent
  • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • A proven track record of consistently good/outstanding teaching
  • Be able to travel to, in and around the East London area
