Job Description A leader in the fields of professional and consumer imaging equipment and information systems is looking for a mid-high experienced IP lawyer to join their in-house IP team. The CompanyOur client is a leading multinational corporation specialising in optical, imaging, and industrial products and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The RoleThe client is looking for someone who can provide expert and pragmatic legal advice and guidance in a timely manner to support the corporation and acquired companies in relation to IP & the clients brand. The succesful candidate will ensure the correct protection of the IP team and the clients IP interests in all IP & commercial agreements across EMEA business. The Responsiblities
  • Draft and negotiate all types of IP contracts across the EMEA region including agreements regarding the supply of goods/services (both supplier and customer-facing), confidentiality/NDA, marketing and distribution, agency, consultancy, sponsorship, outsourcing,procurement, inter-company technology licensing, software/technology licensing, SaaS and PaaS agreements, product development, and commercial collaboration. Preparation of and advice on commercial agreements impacting the clients brand.
  • Proactively identify IP risk areas and work with business to develop novel risk mitigation solutions. Using initiative to identify potential impacts on the clients brand in commercial projects. Support and advise on general IP litigation which may arise.
  • Review and update existing IP policies and procedures to support new business models and work proactively to create IP focused commercial contract templates where necessary. Work with IP Director in creating and developing the clients EMEA IP support strategies.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders in relation to IP, including assisting with internal compliance and other IP training initiatives.
  • Provide commercial IP support for Merger & Acquisition projects.
The Requirements
  • Qualified UK solicitor preferred. Proven experience in IP & commercial law.
  • Significant relevant working experience in a corporate organisation across EMEA Experienced in contract drafting and negotiation, specifically including IP heavy provisions.
  • Ability to work pro-actively and self-driven without day-to-day supervision.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
