Our client, an insurance company, have an exciting new opening for an Inwards Reinsurance Technician. It will involve handling Proportional /Non Proportional Treaty reinsurance and technical reconciliations. Duties and ResponsibilitiesTreaty Management and Overdue Adjustment Reports - ensure these are completed for Team Leader to review and assist with escalation when necessaryProduction and analysis of Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly reports as part of the close process, including identification of anomalies and resolution (where possible)Ensure knowledge is kept up to date around new systems and procedures and provide training when requestedProvide resolution to processing queries raised by team membersUndertake Technical Accounting responsibilities (including processing) incorporating complex Inwards Proportional & Non- Proportional treaties.Person SpecificationStrong technical skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlinesUnderstanding of general insurance and reinsurance principles is essentialUnderstanding & review profit commission/sliding scale calculations is essentialUnderstanding of complex accounts such as clean cut accounts (portfolio in and out) is essentialExperience of month end report checks is desirableExperience of oversight/peer review is desirablePrevious experience in a similar processing role within the Inward reinsurance marketUnderstanding of Proportional Treaty claims is essentialGood understanding of Bureau systems and procedures is desirableKnowledge of Property, Casualty, and Marine business classes desirable but not essentialUnderstanding of Genius and SAP Accounting system is desirable but not essentialExcel skills at intermediate level is essential (Pivot tables & V-lookups, formulas).
