The successful applicant will join a growing fund that is part of a wider business which has seen its AUM grow steadily over the last 6-7 years. The alternatives team, while currently a smaller part of the overall investment group, is expanding and thisis a newly created position. The post holder will work closely with the Alternatives Portfolio Manager to oversee the existing portfolio holdings, while also identifying new opportunities. Analysis is undertaking quantitatively and qualitatively, and the firmprides itself on undertaking detailed due diligence on the funds invested in to. Experience in researching alternatives fund managers is key, especially within the real estate/infrastrucure space, while some exposure to fixed income managers would also beuseful but not a deal breaker. A credible, detailed approach to engaging with prospective fund managers is a must. This role would suit someone currently working at perhaps an asset owner/pension fund, an investment consultant or an asset manager with an alternativesgroup. We can also look at individuals who are working at one of the Big Four in audit or transactions and would like to transition into buy-side research. In terms of years of experience, somewhere around 3-6 would work well. The culture of the firm is allabout collaboration and sharing ideas.
