Job Description

City Elite are currently hiring for an Investment Advisory Director for our client, who are an international bank based in London.The position sits within the RealEstate & Investments team and will consist of you providing Real Estate and Investment solutions to Private Banking clients.The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:- Full investment capability, reporting to the Head of Investments and supporting the team of Relationship Managers, in the provision of investment management services.Investment Advisory:- Providing end to end investment advisory capabilities to the clientswhilst complying with the necessary business and regulatory standards.- Driving improvements to the advisory model to ensure best in class solutions and client service.- Contribute to the identification of new service levels within the field of advisory such as managed advisory or advisory portfolio management.Idea Generation- Contributing to the tactical positioning of the Group by offering market observations and product knowledge to the investment team.- Contribute to product idea generation and identify new segments and product types to enhance the offering, such as structured product advisory.Client Engagement-Formulate investment strategy for the UK advisory business.- Liaising directly with clients to support commercial goals .- Perform portfolios reviews with clients and build share of walletInvestment Advisory- Independently execute the various stages in the advisory process including but not limited to: client profiling, creating the Investment Policy Statement, drafting the initial investment schedules, calculating and implementing trades and reporting to clients- Establish best practices for client advisory work gleaned from extensive experience in the wealth management sector- Execute client profiling at expert level using best practices and client experience to extract investment goals and tolerances professionally and building trust along the process-Service advisory clients proactively and in accordance with the client’s contact preferences- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders including engaging with the product specialists both inhouse and external to ensure excellent service delivery of the advisory function- Perform periodic reporting to client and monitoring, prepare written client investment reports periodically, including bespoke reports when required- Continually monitor the product offering to ensure the offering is fit for purpose.- Recommend platform changes to better meet the needs of advisory business- Identify new product opportunities within funds and structured products to meet the needs of Advisory business- Oversee investment advisory on the whole and assess the competency and accuracy of advisory business delivered by certified staff- Liaise with the CIO Team to identify tactical and thematic investment opportunities that provide alpha to the asset allocation process Client Engagement and AUM Growth- Actively contribute to the unit’s sales and marketing efforts through constant coordination with the business development teams, interactions with current and potential clients, participation in sales pitches and investor education forums in the UK andabroad- Present banks capabilities to internal and external stakeholder and drive client AUM growth.- Prepare proposals for clients, perform regular client performance reviews and provide market updates on portfolios- Develop a sales strategy for the investment advisors to engage with clients and deliver on financial goals of the bank- Investment advisors are expected to travel to meet clients in person, leading meeting and completing all actions points post meetings Risk and ComplianceCompliance- Ensure compliance banksprocedures and FCA requirements regarding the conduct of business- Comply with laid down policies, procedures and authority limits to protect the interests of the bank and customers- Proactively assess business practices to ensure current and future regulatory obligations are satisfied and operational losses are minimized Team Management- Manage investment advisors, and oversee their deliverables to ensure required levels of competence and productivity- Train and supervise advisory team member and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work- Identifying areas for improvements to department’s efficiency and effectiveness by integrating with the coverage model of the relationship managers- Responsible for advisory team deliverables, setting objectives, monitoring performance, providing guidance to the team- Annually assess all direct reports regarding certification under SMCR, where relevant.Idividuals must possess the following qualities:- Min 10 years financial industry experience- Min 7 years wealth management experience- Minimum graduate degree in finance related field- RDR level 4 qualification- CFA charter holder or equivalent is required- Certified individual- Has a solid understanding of the bedrock financial theory- Investment research and investment strategy experience essential- Professional or personal experience with middle east region is preferred- Understand procedures for securities dealing & forex trades, via treasury dealers- Understanding UK structured product market designed for retail- In depth understanding of the UK regulatory environment- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills & communication skills- Strong communication skills – oral and written
