The role The Junior Investment Accountant assists in ensuring investment activity is properly accounted for by the custodians, investment administrator and in the business accounts. In addition, the Junior Investment Accountant will support the regulatoryreporting team, the CIO and other areas of the business with regards to the provision of investment related information. Key accountabilities Assist with the preparation of monthly journal entries to record the investment activity within the US GAAP generalledger Assist with completion of quarterly journal entries to record the investment activity within the general ledger on a New UK GAAP, Irish GAAP and Solvency II basis Assist with production of a weekly review of investment performance, as well as the monthlypreparation and reconciliation of internal investment reports Support internal and external audit related activities and providing information as requested, responding to questions, ensuring operation of financial reporting controls and effectively supportingthe overall audit processes Prepare investment schedules for AM Best reporting on an annual basis, Solvency II reporting on a quarterly basis for UK and Irish insurers and BMA reporting on a quarterly basis for Bermuda insurer and Group Review quarterly cash,valuation and custody reconciliations and quarterly review of AFS securities for impairment Support the regulatory reporting team with compilation of the Group and Bermuda insurer BSCR submissions, additionally to support and produce Solvency II submissionsSupport the CIO and Investment Accountant with the production non-financial statement related investment reporting Support the CIO with oversight of the investment portfolios including reviewing performance, compliance, transactions and producing ad-hoc analysesas required Assist with other additional projects as they arise, including process improvements and system upgrades Skills & experience Relevant university degree Qualified Accountant, with an internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACA/CPA) Workingknowledge of investment accounting for US GAAP, including pricing, impairment and fair value classifications Proficient in Microsoft Excel, advanced analytical spreadsheet skills required Insurance industry experience or knowledge is an advantage Experiencewith Oracle Fusion, Oracle Hyperion, Clearwater Analytics and SIIAssist is an advantage
