Job Description

Are you looking for a role allowing you to have substantial strategic financial influence Do you have a strong background in finance team leadership and have experience in a Finance Business Partnering capacity Are you comfortable operating in CentralGovernment and Civil Service environmentsMy client is a central government body that will face substantial growth, and change in their operating model and reporting lines, over the next twelve months. In preparation, they are now recruiting for an Interim Strategic Finance Manager with key responsibilitiesincluding:

  • Building and developing a finance team to accommodate for the anticipated increase in demand over the coming months
  • Supporting the development of a Finance Business Partner who has recently joined the organisation, and be hands-on in budget holder relationship development as the function grows
  • Sitting on Leadership Team meetings and provide strategic finance input to the challenges faced over the coming months
  • Creating new reporting structures and ensuring finance systems are ready to handle business changes
  • Supporting the professionalisation of the finance function, developing best practice in finance, and leading the finance input into the Target Operating Model.
This will be an excellent role for an established finance professional with a mixture of strategic influence and Finance Business Partnering skills to have a swift and recognisable impact on a changing finance team.The newly acquired office is in Central London and a flexible hybrid pattern of work is in place, with an average of 40% time spent in the office. Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to counter terrorist check (CTC), though this canbe fast tracked to ensure a prompt start to the interim contract.Candidates should meet the following minimum criteria before applying:
  • Be a fully qualified accountant with experience providing strategic financial influence
  • Have experience working in civil service or central government bodies
  • Be a strong finance leader, known for building and developing teams
  • Be available for a prompt start in the new year for a new interim role.
