Job Description

Length of contract: 3 monthsRate: up to £600 Ltd/Umbrella (inside IR35)Interim Solutions ArchitectA Local Authority in London is currently recruiting for Interim Solutions Architects, to deliver major Solution architecture work, to ensure that the business strategy is enabled through the implementation of the systems and technologies deployed, creating agile platforms for future growth.As Interim Solutions Architect, you will work across key initiatives such as a digital transformation for online service presence, Single View of a Customer, and an IoT platform as part of a Smart Cities Programme.Interim Solutions Architect Responsibilities:

  • Work with development teams to set guidelines for how technology solutions are implemented (repeatable patterns rather than reinvention) and apply appropriate levels of governance to ensure success
  • Work with developers, infrastructure teams and 3rd parties to architect solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements
  • Design and implement solutions that include multi-vendor tech and products, web platforms, process orchestration and various operating systems
  • Guide and assist procurement process for technology product selection, ITT publication and assessing potential vendor solutions, then engage with bidders to outline the Target Operating Model
  • Work across the software development lifecycle using emergent/agile architecture techniques to assist and guide development teams where necessary and adjust solutions to changing requirements and feedback
  • Report into the Lead Architect for guidance on business strategies and to align solutions with technology roadmap and blueprints
  • Use capability models to understand technology capabilities and duplication avoidance across the council, so that investment can be targeted at the most valuable areas
  • The Interim Solutions Architect will have:
  • Essential: Solution and/or Enterprise Architecture experience of working with a local authority
  • Must work within architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
  • Experience of working in an agile product environment
  • Detailed understanding of IoT technologies, concepts and components: ideally familiar with the end to end proposition to support remote devices securely passing data across the networks to a centralised IoT platform
  • Familiar with cloud computing concepts and knowledge of designing solutions in Azure
  • Experience of Application Directory Services, such as Active Directory, Azure AD and leveraging a Single Sign On proposition
  • Experience in MS Dynamics 365 Ecosystem: an understanding of their cloud-based offering, particularly CRM, Office 365 and Power BI
  • A good understanding of Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) and how it can be leveraged to provide services across the council.
  • Proven experience in software solution design and in-depth understanding of integration techniques (SOAP, Rest APIs).
  • Business intelligence, data-lake, data warehouse, transformation tools and data analysis tools for reports, dashboards and insights
  • Experience in Contact Centre and telephony applications to manage unified communications along with IVR, call recordings and integration with domain applications.
  • Familiar with NCSC Cloud Principles, PCI and Cyber Essentials framework
  • Knowledge Cyber Defence or Information Security Compliance certification: CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CISM or Comptia Security+
