Job Description

Are you an experienced Rent and Service Charge Accountant with proven experience in managing a small team, who is able to hit the ground running Are you immediately available or on a short notice period If so, please continue reading!Robertson Bell are pleased to be working with a Housing Association, to recruit an Interim Rent and Service Charge Accountant on a 6-week contract to cover a period of absence, this could potentially extended further. This role will be remote working throughout the contract, candidates nationwide will be considered.Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead on; setting Rents and Service Charges, maintaining accurate data, and reporting the state of Rent and Service Charges to the EMT and the Board.
  • Be the organisational lead for Rents and Service Charge policy - staying up to date on current legislation, ensuring best practice at all times as well as informing the organisation of any legislative changes.
  • Perform the annual Rent and Service Charge reviews, in addition to ad hoc reviews to ensure income is maximised and errors are minimised.
  • Ensure Business as Usual is maintained during peak times, meeting key weekly and monthly deadlines, as well as being responsible for preparing relevant regulatory reports.
    • The successful candidate will:
  • Have proven experience in a Rent and Service Charge Accounting role, including experience of managing at least one member of staff.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of, and desire to remain up to date with, current Housing legislation and regulations
  • Have strong people skills, communication ability, and the maturity to take the lead on a crucial area of income for a successful organisation.
