Job Description

Our client, a prestigious Local Authority is looking for lead in their Asset Management Programme team to plan and deliver an asset management strategy, which provides the basis for the Council’s planned maintenance and capital delivery spend. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced in capital programme delivery and asset management within a local government or housing organisation.Position: Head of Strategic Asset Management and Compliance Period: 3 months with possible extension Shifts: Monday to Friday Location: Central LondonRate: £300 - £400 per day IR35 status: Inside IR35Duties for this Head of Strategic Asset Management and Compliance opportunity will include:

  • To plan and deliver an asset management strategy for the property portfolio, owned by both the general fund and HRA in close partnership with the senior leadership team
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate and auditable recording of health and safety compliance information, including: fire, gas, asbestos, electrical, lifts, legionella and playground equipment
  • Create a robust service with set performance indicators to allow effective reporting and improve levels of service across all areas
  • Manage and oversee the relevant asset management and compliance databases to provide the basis of planning an investment strategy for the Council’s housing stock ensuring it meets statutory needs
  • Form strong stakeholder relationships and ensure high quality communication to senior members, consultants and residents
  • Develop key communication strategies to ensure residents are aware of the programme and are able to voice concerns
    • Desired experience:
  • Proven track record in delivery of Asset Management and Compliance for residential property in a Local Authority or Housing Association setting
  • Holds extensive technical knowledge in legislation and law relating to residential property and major works programmes
  • Educated to degree level in relevant areas and RICS membership would be a bonus
