Job Description

Our client, a London based local authority is seeking an experienced Head of Highways and Parking in order to oversee the team of technical professionals and engineers. The successful candidate will have experience leading a Highways and Parking service with a proven track record in transformation and service improvement.Position: Head of Highways and ParkingRate: £400 - £500 per dayIR35 Status: InsidePeriod: 3 monthsHours: Full timeLocation: LondonResponsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategic and operational management and control of the highways and parking service, ensuring that the service meets national and local priorities in a customer-focused and efficient way
  • Managing all budgets involved in the service including expenditure and income, circa £40million per annum
  • Provide expertise and advice on the technical aspects of projects to ensure that stakeholders are fully aware of progress
  • Handling procurement processes ensuring project requirements are met including budgets and outcomes
  • Development of good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects run smoothly and issues are quickly resolved
    • Desired experience:
  • Proven track record in successful delivery of Highways and Parking services
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Incorporated member of a recognised engineering institution or equivalent
