Job Description

Firefly are currently working with a PLC business in London to recruit an Interim and Permanent Group Reporting Manager.Job Responisbilities

  • Review of consolidated Group and subsidiary financial statements ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards,
  • Preparation/review of schedules and models for key risk areas, liaising with external auditors and with senior management to conclude on accounting treatment at reporting periods
  • Preparation/review of accounting papers for key accounting policies
  • Preparation of the finance review and supporting schedules for the Group financial statements
  • Management of the annual audit and interim review process and key contact for the external audit team
  • Technical accounting responsibility for new accounting standards or new business activities including acquisitions/disposals. Provision of technical accounting advice and training to the Finance team
  • Assistance in the preparation of corporate models and scenarios for refinancing, M&A, geothermal projects and other activities as necessary from time-to-time
  • Review of quarterly and ad-hoc reporting to lenders and preparation of compliance statements under covenants
  • Responsible for corporation taxation matters for the Group and its subsidiaries
  • Assisting in the review of monthly management accounts for presentation to the Board including reviewing analysis and reports provided by the wider finance team
  • Review of quarterly working capital reconciliations, including classification between CAPEX/OPEX/G&A and ensuring appropriate treatment of these within the cash flow statement
  • Driving improvement in processes and controls throughout the finance function
  • Performing various types of analysis and other activities to assist the Finance Director as required.
About You
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and demonstrable experience in interpreting and applying new accounting requirements. Critical thinking and the ability to consider the financial accounting, management accounting, tax and treasury aspects of transactions
  • Self-motivated, capable of using initiative, having a good eye for detail and able to meet deadlines whilst managing competing priorities
  • Experience of managing junior staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential with the ability to liaise with people at all levels throughout the Group, both in the finance and operations teams
  • Experience of financial processes in an industry environment and broad accounting experience
  • Excellent excel and modelling skills and the ability to ensure the integrity of financial models. Experience of dealing with complex business models for Group valuations and forecasts
