Job Description

Are you a Financial Controller, looking for a new interim contract Do you have experience in leading a government organisation through year-end reporting under IFRS and Government Financial Reporting Manual Do you have experience of managing a teamRobertson Bell are pleased to be partnering with a Government organisation, to recruit an Interim Financial Controller on a 6-month contract. This role will be remote working for the foreseeable however there may be a requirement to go into the office fortnightly when guidelines allow.Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of qualified accountants on their day to day tasks.
  • Leading on the management, and production of the year end statutory accounts including leading on any finance aspects of the annual report.
  • Managing the planning of the annual accounts ensure the team is working collaboratively to ensure production in a effective and timely manner.
  • Lead on the liaison with internal and external auditors, including co-ordination of the audit.
  • Support the continuous review, resign and roll out of existing and new policies.
    • The successful candidate will:
  • Be a fully qualified, strong technical senior accountant and have led a government organisation through year-end.
  • Have experience of reporting under IFRS and Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM).
  • Have experience of managing a team, including managing their day to day activities and providing them with comprehensive support.
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbally.
    • Please note this role fall inside of IR35.
