6-month contractRemote / Home WorkingI am currently searching for an Interim Financial Controller. My client operates within the Public sector, making a powerful a difference to lives of all age and background across the UK.With increased funding streams being issued by Government to support the current COVID climate this organisation is tasked with helping people return to some form of normality. The role has been introduced to combat an increase in workload and will provide vital financial support and leadership to the team and lead them through the submission of annual accounts year end. Reporting into the Deputy Finance Director this role will:

Plan and lead the production of all statutory and regulatory reporting for the organisation and its subsidiaries ensuring compliance with IFRS, Government financial reporting (FReM) and Charity SORP.

Manage all reporting relating to pension schemes including annual returns.

Maintain compliance with financial internal controls ensuring that the highest standards of propriety and integrity are operated working with the organisation to understand and implement new reporting requirements where required.

Support the integration of the new grants management system into the finance system (Net Suite) and work on the finance system to deliver improved reporting

Lead the financial accounting and control team of 6, managed through 2 direct repots (qualified accountants).

Deputise for the Deputy Finance Director and provide support to wider projects across the organisation.

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)

Public Sector Experience ideally from Government

Experience reporting under IFRS and Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) and Charity SORP.

Have a good understanding and capability of using systems; Oracle Netsuite would be advantageous but not essential.
