You will serve as the primary financial business partner to the UK and European Retail leadership team, reporting directlyto the Director of Commercial Finance. This involves assisting the retail team in budgeting and forecasting, assessing proposed changes to stores, and ensuring that the retail channel achieves its financial targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).A significant aspect of the role will involve a forward-looking approach, concentrating on the budget, forecast, and medium-term plan to guarantee alignment with the achievement of the brand’s strategic objectives.The role…

  • Regularly monitor and assess weekly retail metrics/key performance indicators (KPIs), taking a proactive approach to comprehend any potential impact they might have on financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Management Accounts team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly financial results for the retail business.
  • Participate in monthly review meetings with business partners to examine periodic financial performance, offer insights into any variances, and proactively identify risks and opportunities relative to budget/forecast.
  • Collaborate with pertinent business partners to comprehend the medium-term plan and convert it into a sturdy and precise annual budget, along with quarterly re-forecasts.
  • Offer a suitable level of scrutiny to ensure that budgets align with the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Tasked with submitting and loading the annual budget into the relevant system.
  • Present the retail budget to senior leadership during budget review meetings, emphasizing both risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business partners on commercial initiatives, providing assistance with financial modelling and business cases, including conducting investment appraisals for new stores.
  • Analysis of profitability of stores
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects
About you…
  • Previous experience working within a retail environment is a must
  • Strong understanding of retail business and its drivers of performance
  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant with PQE
  • Proficient with systems - Strong Excel skills, and experience in Microsoft AX and Hyperion Planning desirable
