Job Description

9 month Fixed Term Contract role - Based Central London - 3 days a weekCategory Manager - Food & BeveragesReporting to the Group Head of ProcurementWorking as part of the Procurement team for a Group specialising in the running of luxury hotels in and around London. Focused on providing an exceptional stay for their guests, they are responsible for more than £100m of spend across a broad range of categories.Their aim is to leverage the supply chain to maximise value and deliver competitive advantage for the Group and our hotels in support of the Group’s strategic objective.The role will support the Procurement team running strategic sourcing projects across a range of categories within the food & beverage sector. You will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies across these key spend areas. The rolewill support the Group Head of Procurement, central functions and hotel teams as a subject matter expert, advising on strategic sourcing initiatives, and category management disciplines. To lead, manage and negotiate all supplier spend in the categories, youwill optimise costs while balancing service levels, operational efficiency and the groups strategic business objectives.Key Attributes required:

  • Ideally CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified preferred but not mandatory and educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-year track record of Food & Beverage sourcing and/or demonstrated knowledge of the Food & Beverage market
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to connect with, and influence senior stakeholders at all leadership levels
  • Results oriented and highly commercial
  • Strong supplier and category management capabilities, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
  • Strong communicator, proactive, self-starter and independent worker
  • Experience in developing category strategies and strategic sourcing
  • Ability to work to set budgets and timelines aligned to project schedules
  • Credible - proven track record at group level for multi-site organisation
The role is for an immediate start.
