Purpose of the role To provide focus and leadership for all insurance activities relating to the Client Property Funds and M&GRE corporate insurance requirements. To manage the insurance programmes placed on behalf of the various funds and to provide support and advice to colleagues on insurance cover and insurance risk management related issues. To direct and manage the services provided by the companys insurance advisers and to act as the companys link to the wider M&G. Plc business and external community on insurance cover and insurance risk management related topics. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Evaluate the insurance and related risk management needs of clients and ensure resulting approach to the purchase of insurance and related services addresses those needs Develop and implement a risk management strategy to optimise asset protection Ensure all insurances placed on behalf of the funds, joint venture partners and external clients, are fit for purpose and reflective of the identified needs of those funds Management of the companys appointed insurance broker(s), Third Party Claims Administrator and other professional advisers to ensure the services provided are aligned to the companys needs and reflective of best practice To maximise the risk mitigation impact of the Risk Management Fund Risk Management Information System (Lighthouse) - to ensure that the RMIS is kept up to date to allow for the identification of increased property risks and the implementation of risk mitigation measures and or lighthouse property audits. Claims Management - Analyses claims MI for identification of claims trends and the creation of appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Oversee major claims and liaise with the Asset Management team, PMs and appointed claims management consultants. Provision of advice to staff on insurance and insurance-related matters as and when required To represent the company in the Insurance Market and within the Real Estate sector Liaison with M&G Group Insurance Team as and when required Collate renewal data for financial lines, D&O and P&C cover. Liaison with Health & Safety, Sustainability, Development and other functions in order that insurance and related matters are aligned to the achievement of wider Corporate objectives Provision of regular reports to AMC, M&GRE & MAGIM boards on insurance and related matters as agreed Attendance at Insurance Oversight Forum and appropriate external meetings (e.g. BPF). Procurement of training to staff on insurance related matters Facilitate the provision of insurance details on purchases of properties for the European portfolio to the companys appointed insurance broker Co-ordinate the competitive remarketing of the companys property portfolio in the insurance market as and when appropriate M&GRE Singapore insurance representative - provide guidance and support on Corporate Insurance matters M&GRE Captive Board Director - represent M&GRE at the quarterly captive board meetings FCA Approved person status for the M&GRE Appointed Representative role M&GRE Insurance Profit Centre - objectives of the insurance director are: Grow the profits (before corporate overheads) and profit margins (on revenue) of the franchise year on year Identify initiatives to maximise profit growth Develop plans detailing priorities for the Insurance Team, profit forecast, resourcing levels Deepen understanding of the market and monitor competitor activity. Enabling a more outward facing client driven business To understand and demonstrate positive behaviours in line with our Attributes and Expectations. To proactively demonstrate the key elements of Building Our Service Relationships, particularly the top five elements, within all internal and external communications. Lead and manage team/direct reports ensuring all people management responsibilities are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Business/HR policies, procedures or guidelines. To understand the companys Sustainability vision and apply the Sustainability Strategy as appropriate for your role. To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities appropriate for your role and ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the relevant company policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes responsibilities relating to your own H&S and others affected by your actions. Any concerns relating to H&S risks must be escalated to your line Manager and the companys H&S Manager. Fulfil regulatory requirements, including timely completion of all regulatory training and declarations. Represent the interests of M&GRE on the BPF Insurance Committee.
