Instructional Designers - Higher / Further Education***Multiple positions across projects***Linked to Harlow office but 100% remote working3 months initially (possibility of ext), est. 37.5 hours per weekASAP start (virtual interviews & onboarding)Up to £190-£215pd max (umbrella rate) - rate depending on projectPLEASE NOTE OUR CLIENT NO LONGER ALLOW PSCs OR CONTRACTORS VIA LIMITED COMPANIES ON SITE. THERE IS A PSL FOR UMBRELLA COMPANIES THEY ALLOW, WHICH AGENCIES ARE PERMITTED TO SHARE.Criteria & Must haves:1) Applicants must be graduate level - this is important as the chosen individuals will be dealing with complex postgraduate content2) A minimum of 2 years experience in specially, instructional design work - the work required is not learning design or learning technology work, it is specifically instructional design work. This involves working with the academics to take their raw content and storyboard something within an already agreed learning design that will work to teach the students. It is very much on the pedagogical side of things.3) It is essential applicants have prior (& recent) experience working within the Further / Higher Education sector - the chosen individuals will be working with very complex content & a lot of it (think along the lines of converting a thick university level textbook into an online course!)Job Summary/Description:Identifies strategic capability gaps. Designs programs and learning opportunities to grow and develop the employee population. Defines Career Paths for each business group to provide clarity and transparency for Career Development. Develops and/or delivers training and educational programs related to skills training, communication, team building, management development and problem-solving using a variety of instructional methods. Assignments may include needs analysis, custom course development, and evaluation and learning assessment.Minimum Required Skills:Key competencies * Conceptualise and storyboard instructionally sound, interactive and engaging content that promotes active learning * Be familiar with a range of authoring tools and templates * Ability to write and transform content for adult learners in an online environment to structured style guides. * Work independently, managing own time, prioritising effectively and making decisions confidently, quickly and thoughtfully * Excellent organisational, time management, prioritisation and planning skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to provide timely and appropriate communication to both internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to use own initiative and develop good working relationships * Team player * Enthusiastic and efficient with a proactive attitude * Excellent attention to detail * Able and used to working to a high standard of accuracy under pressureAdditional Job Details:Key Accountabilities * Using raw content provided by an academic, prepare, transform and script content into storyboards and asset templates. * Review scripted content for consistency, accuracy and quality both in the storyboard and in the learning environment. * Ensure that the content meets the desired learning objectives for the course and that it is aligned with sound pedagogical best practices. * Transform content from its raw format into a range of set learning assets, using third party authoring tool templates * Work to a schedule to manage own time to ensure all content is scripted within designated time. * Effective communication of project status to Lead and Senior Instructional Designer as appropriate * Work on ad-hoc projects as they arise within the department.
