To lead on the management of inquests and claims across the Trust.
To act as the liaison between the HM Coroners office and the Trusts and to coordinate the gathering of statements and evidence for HM Coroner Inquests.
To support through the Trusts governance structure alignment in and learning from themes and outcomes of inquests and non-clinical claims.
Leading a team responsible for identifying colleagues who are likely to have information and knowledge which would be material and useful to the Trust in the conduct of the inquest.

Profile

Must organise own workload, working to tight external and internal deadlines under pressure (including court, statutory and NHS Resolution deadlines).
Previous Exposure of day to day management of a team.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Provide legal advice to NHS employees faced with difficult and distressing situations.
Provides support and developmental training to departmental colleagues as required.
Evidence of understanding of the Pre Action Protocol for the Resolution of Clinical Disputes and the Coronal process.
Exposure of working with data base/claims management systems e.g. Datix
